Becoming A Vendor
Super Early Bird Rate of $100.00:
- Must Register & Make Payment by Friday, February 16th 2018 at 3pm
- Limited to Only 10 vendors at this discounted Rate
- Must Register & Make Payment by Monday, April 9th 2018 at 3pm
Regular Rate of $250.00
- Must Register & Make Payment before, Tuesday May 1st 2018 at 3pm
Late Rate of $300.00
- For All Registrations on or after May 2nd, 2018
What does vending include:Â
- Designated Area for setup.
- 6 foot table and 2 chairs.Â
- 8×8 tent is allowed (provided by you, or we can provide rental for $50.00)
- Listing on the website.
- Meals & Beverages for staff.
- Malcolm X Day Promo items.
- Mention of your business on the microphone during the event.Â

Yes there will absolutely be vendors at the community cookout. Â
Vendors will include an assortment of businesses that supply goods and services to the community

Here are some things to know about food for the community cookout:
FREE FOOD
- We will provide free food to the community for this event. Â
- We will begin serving at 12pm.Â
- Food options will include, grilled, smoked, baked chicken , grilled vegetables , baked beans,
- Will have water and soft drinks available at no cost.Â
- You are welcome to bring your own food if you would like to.Â
- There may be vendors thereÂ
Vendors with Items For Purchase
- There may be vendors there with food products such as desserts ,snow cones etc.Â

Please be reminded absolutely NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are allowed at this event , or in the park.Â

If you would like donate goods directly to be contributed towards the community cookout, we are accepting donations from the general public for :
- Water
- Chips(packs/boxes of individual bags)Â
- Soda / Gatorade
To keep consistency of items, and safety of preparation these are the only items we are accepting direct donations for from the general public. If you by chance or a store that would like to donate a significant amount of an item (baked beans, fresh chicken, hot dogs) then please contact us as we will make exceptions in this case as it will allow us to keep the consistency and safety for the attendees of Malcolm X Day Community Cookout

Malcolm X was born on May 19th, 1925, so on this day May 19th, we celebrate intelligence, wisdom, unity, strength and forward progress as a community. On this day we work toward making a real effort to do better , to have more impact and to improve the conditions of our community. Â We do so for our future and in honor of Malcolm X!Â
Despite the weather(with the exception of a major catastrophe) Malcolm X Day Community Cookout will still take place.Â
If it’s just light showers here and there, the event will still be held inside of The Community Empowerment Zone.Â
In the event of a major storm, we will update the community on the plan.Â
No, the Malcolm X Day Celebration is not religious by any means.  It is a celebration for a great man who devoted his life to progress & truth, a great man that gave his life for what he believed and those whom he loved.Â
Malcolm X for at least part(s) of his life considered himself Muslim, but these events aren’t about his religious practices or beliefs, but instead are about his commitment to his community and their progress.
We invite all members of the community whatever your religion to stand with us for UNITY, PROGRESS & JUSTICE.Â
No, the Malcolm X Day Celebration is not political by any means. Â It is a celebration for a great man who devoted his life to progress & truth, a great man that gave his life for what he believed and those whom he loved.Â
 The Community Cookout on Saturday May 19th is a family friendly event.   There will be plenty of kid friendly activities for them to engage and have fun with.  So be sure to bring the kids and their friends.Â
Come ready to let the kids have fun, and for you to relax a little!Â
Of course it’s okay if you attend the event. Â The requirements for attendance have nothing to do with race. Â If you are authentically concerned about helping the black community move forward and unify, then this is an event for you. Â If you have listened to, studied or know of the great works of Malcolm X and you have an appreciation for him, then yes please attend and do what you can to spread the word.Â

Yes children are allowed. The Community Cookout on Saturday May 19th is a family friendly event.   There will be plenty of kid friendly activities for them to engage and have fun with. WE will even have a specific area designated for all types of fun and play stations for the youth!Â
So be sure to bring the kids and their friends.Â

There is not an official dress code to the event. Â All we ask is that you come to the event, looking presentable and respectable.Â
We welcome volunteers, the more the merrier. However we ask that our volunteers take the efforts seriously and understand that is a part of serious work being done to help our community.Â

There is no cost to attend the event. Â However we ask that if you like the work we do for the youth and in the community and you would like to see more of it take place, then please donate what you can to the cause.Â

No , this is not a Muslim event , nor do you need to be muslim to attend or to appreciate the work that Malcolm X did for progress and advancement.Â

There are a number of ways you can participate in Malcolm X Day. Â
Before the event:
- Post reminders to your social media.Â
- Create videos/snapchat/instagram speaking on and reminding people about Malcolm X Day.
- Change your profile to one of our Malcolm X Day graphics (we will be posting them soon)Â
- Contact us and get started on hosting Malcolm X Day events in your city for next year.Â
On May 19th:
- Take the day off from work.
- Dress as Malcolm X.
- Buy from black owned businesses. (Get started on creating your business)
- Mentor a kid, or anyone in need of it.Â
- Increase your knowledge of the work that Malcolm X did in the community.
- Do something that will have any impact on the future of your community.Â

Beyond the above and overall the more important objective is to make a commitment to helping in your community.Â
